How can we begin to change as a race when there is so much stupidity inherent in many humans? Yes, I await a backlash for these remarks but I am constantly amazed at the lack of thought going on within many sections of society. This is just a little gem and one of the constant reminders that many humans are just idiots.

I watched a chat show last night on which were two up their own arse comedians promoting the new seires of their food show. Here is the link:

You can take a look and try and tell me why a tv show is being made in which people dress up as medieval folk and eat half of a piglet stitched to half of a cockeral. Will next seasons comedy viewing have people re-living their lives as Klu Klux Klan and lynching people? Funny isn’t it. How about a show about Romans raping and pillaging?

You may think I sound extreme but I do believe this is just sick, people who make it are quite ill educated about how humanity has to develop if they want to keep the planet in a livable condition and if they want to live in peace, the people who watch it are probably doing so eating oversized hamburgers and have never thought about giving some of their time to charity.

Animals are living beings, with the ability to feel pain and loss. It is not fair to take their lives when we do not need to, to kill their children and to laugh at the whole thing.

I lost my two dogs this week. It was and still is very painful and people who know us are so sympathetic. Yet no-one cares about the cow, the piglet or the bouncing baby lamb. Why not? Sometimes I feel alone in my thoughts. Often I feel no-one really gives a shit about all these living, feeling beings in pain. Please prove me wrong.

Unfortunately we can’t proof you wrong.

We also come to the conclusion that the concerns of the (farm) animals are apparently not part of social consciousness. Although the majority of meat-eating people is against factory farming, however, consumption of animals seems to be completely justifiable for them.

Criticising their point of view makes them feel patronized and restricted in their freedom and rights. People insist on their right of free choice. They want to decide themselves whether they eat meat or not. Animals as sensitive beings don’t have any rights.

While humans in history never had more freedom and possibilities to choose - animals in turn never had less rights to live an appropriate life. Nowadays animals are specifically bred and born to die for human consumption.

We feel sorry that you had to put down your dogs.

    Lots of green greetings

I am really not sure where you are coming from, Vegaversum, but people do not treat animals in the way they do as an expression of their freedom to choose - they do so becuase they are selfish bastards who don’t just put their needs above all others (which is at least understandable if not always commendable) but also condemn millions of animals to torture and death for no reason other than that they are too lazy and/or uncaring to do different. hence vivisection; hence factory farming; hence “entertainment” such as circuses, bull-fighting and the TV show highlighted in this blog; hence fox-hunting and hare-coursing and a host of other “country sports”; hence the fur trade; hence… goddamit, the list is endless. “Freedom of choice” is a red-herring. We all give up freedoms for the sake of society. The only question is which, and where we draw the line, and a little less hypocrisy on everyone’s part would really help… even most meat-eaters get upset if their pet dog is hurt even just a little, yet they are content to condemn thousands upon thousands of anonymous dogs to the horrendous torture of vivisection. Why? Because their pet dog gives them pleasure, whereas the poor lab-dogs mean nothing to them. As has been sad: selfish bastards, the lot of them.
