Ok, I’ve been a little busy!

I’ve been meaning to write another post for ages! It’s been a busy time recently but a productive one. I did a most boring but truly rewarding job for NOAH (the Norwegian Animal Rights Organisation). They are moving their site over to wordpress and needed some assistance in transferring posts over. I think I clocked up around 70. Job well done, especially since all the posts were in Norwegian and my Norwegian is still officially rubbish.

The kids have just gone back to kindergarten after Summer Break. We spent a week in Lativa which was just gorgeous. I was able to visit my favoutire Japanese restaurant and revelled at dining out. Even though not many vegan dishes on the menus, most restaurants would make something up, either a variation on a menu dish or something the chef dreamed up. The first day I had a variety of baked mushrooms and potatoes that were to die for ( and thankfully nothing did die for it). There is such a lot to do in Latvia. We stayed in Riga and took a few days out to Jurmala, which is a wonderful beach resort 20 minutes train ride away. It is very cosmopolitan, with cafe bars, restaurants, hotels and events and so family orientated. The play parks were incredable, we couldn’t tear the kids away. The hotel had a bowling alley and an amazing roof terrace bar and restaurant (we stayed at the Islande hotel and I can recommend it). Nights were spent listeining to live music and although I feared we would be back in the hotel by 9 with shattered little people, some nights we were all out till 11.30 or so (yet still we will wake up at 7.30 Mummy!)

Coming back to Norway seemed very queit yet it was good to be back in the yoga studio and this week my Figure Yoga training course is advertised in the Yoga Journal so we have been tweaking the website (well, Mattthew has done a new banner, he did the old one too but sometimes he just looks at things and thinks ‘no, can do a better one than that!’)

I have also almost completed the first rough draft of the short film I am working on and we are due to film a different 90 second short next week.

I don’t quite know how I fit it all in with a 4 and a 2 year old but life isn’t dull, predictabe or mind-numbingly average!

Not much has got my back up either recently, which makes a change, no one has made any stupid comments about being vegan, I haven’t seen any tormented animals (although I know they are all there and they are always in my thoughts) and I have felt encouraged by the regular posts I am seeing by facebook friends and wonder if I am seeing a slight shift in favour of the animals, dear god I hope so.

So, with a full but focussed mind I get back to work and see where the future leads me.

Before I finish I did watch a great documentary on raw vegan food and it looked great. Tried it for a day. Maybe that’s going too far, I still have my favourites and you can’t eat curry cold (well, you could…)

Have a lovely day, my friends.
