My local Chinese!

Down the bottom of my road is a wonderful, if not a little strange, Chinese take away. Run by quite an eccentric lady who always gives a free gift, be in a bunch of grapes or a can of beer, it is a joy. I must admit I have partaken of the goodies on offer there about 4 times in the last month but it keeps me going back. It is called Sunlan and if you are ever in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire, you must give it a try! Its hard to choose between the tofu in satay sauce or the mushrooms in nut sauce and being a glutton I have to have the veggie spring rolls and the combo rice noodles and beansprouts. I can honestly say I’ve never known a Chinese take away to produce such good quality food. I guess I feel I should stay home and cook more now after buying my latest vegan cookbook which I can highly recommend - Easy Vegan Cooking by Leah Leneman - the mushroom stroganof is first on my hitlist. It’s a book full of recipes most people could cope with and which you can easily get the ingredients for and I am a person who always chooses starter and main over main and dessert but there are quite a lot of tempting cakes and ice-creams which may just swing me as Summer arrives!
