Don’t let them lift the whaling ban - act quickly.

Don’t allow those ignorant selfish bastards who make our decisions lift the ban on whaling. Do something NOW. There are only 2 days left to knock some sense into these people. Visit the below site and add your voice. Spread the word on twitter, facebook, on your blog, comment on the news sites, demonstrate. In other words, make a BIG DEAL of this. It is unacceptable, sickening and downright immoral. DO...

We’re playing double standards again!

Yesterday I read the below article from the Telegraph with interest. I would have posted it up straight away had I not been in bed with the flu. However, upon dragging myself up today I thought  the first thing I wanted to do was highlight the hypocrisy yet again in our society.  Please read this article (and take note if it makes you angry or upset) and I will continue… Up to a million Hindus gathered...

Food Inc

Last night we watched ‘Food Inc’, a documentary film about the food industry. I must say, as a vegan, I think I know a lot about food production, turns out not as much as I should! The youngest piglets fate.

I just had to share this. The smallest piglets of the litter are often held bt their legs and pounded against  concrete infront of their helpless mothers. At what point do you stop and think ‘Hang On, maybe that’s not acceptable behaviour?’ Don’t be a part of it. But you love a bacon buttie? Grow Up. The original is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cetfa/3771320870/ PAC’d piglet...

Need a vegan belt?

I was so pleasantly surprised when I went to my post box today. There was a parcel from my mother and in it were 2 vegan belts from Ethical Wares. When she was here last, she found one of her belts in my drawers and re-claimed it! She must have known I am always short of belts because now two weeks later, these belts arrived. They are so sweet! I looked at the site and Ethical Wares has lots of accessories for...

Vegan/Vegetarian Childrens Stories

I often find it difficult when looking for books for my children. So many books about animals show them in a farm setting and always show happy animals rather than animals who are possibly heading towards their own deaths far too soon. So this is the first in a series of short posts to offer suggestions of where to find books

E numbers

Firstly thank you to ‘explore e numbers’ for this information. Are you a vegan who checks every label just to check there is no animal in it? Or are you just curious about what is in what you are eating and drinking? If so, here is a quick look at e-numbers, simply because it is easy to avoid products labelled with things like ‘egg’ and ‘cream’, and even ‘gelatine’...
