Kill the Badgers!…Or do what you can to save them.

Yet again, the UK is going back to murdering Badgers. People fought tooth and nail to stop the Welsh cull and now this (full BBC article below). Please write to the governement, your MP or sign an online petition to say that this is no way to go forward, especially with no hard evidence to prove a link between badgers and Bovine TB. We should let the Badgers live their lives as naturally as they can. Maybe if...

Breakfast at Euston!

Now it is not very often I have something complimentary to say about a UK train station. However, I have to say that I had a delightful breakfast at the Sloe Bar Cafe recently. I was in a rush and missed breakfast and was meeting a connecting train with forty five minutes to spare so instead of the predicted bag of crisps on the train, I tried the veggie breakfast at this cafe (which is inside the station)....

Can’t chose!

What to blog about today? The fact that thousands of animals are being killed in japan as they no longer have owners due to the tragic earthquake and tsunami – by the way if this upsets you as much as me then please sign the petition at: http://apps.facebook.com/petitions/1/unclaimed-pets-to-be-gassed-in-72hrs-in-japan/ A sad reality: Japanese animal holding centres in and around the disaster areas have...

Knowsley Safari Park

Knowsley Safari Park comes under fire today after I saw a message from one of the members of the Manchester Vegan Society about an article from the Sun newspaper. The park regularly cull animals and use this as a training session for staff, meaning that some animals are not killed humanely (not that they should be killed in the first place of course). I would advise you to read the article, if only to have the...

Vegan Purses

As you may know I have just set up a small online shop selling ethical goods such as vegan purses and recycled and fair trade bags, jewellery and gifts. Some of the jewellery is hand made, other items commissioned or bought in from trusted acquaintances! I’ve just got a new line of vegan purses in and they are gorgeous. Have one myself! It’s so hard to find a good non leather purses. Usually as vegans...

A mention of a fat man

Now I don’t often have a go at individuals I have met but this one takes this biscuit…the fatty chocolate biscuit. Sitting minding my own business I was chatted up by a local chap….. A chap who’d perhaps eaten too many pies and smoked too many fags…. I was sitting actually trying to have a telephone conversation.  It went along these lines…. Him: Hi Me: Hello Him: You got...

Emperor of Exmoor

So some disgusting bastard has killed the most magnificent stag in the county. Well done. You must be so proud that you can shoot a gun and kill such a big and beautiful animal. I am furious and trying to resist swearing a lot as I write. I hate people who think this is acceptable. HATE THEM. I’m not just sad for this stag and it’s family. I’m sad for all animals and ashamed of my fellow men. I’ve...

Co-Op Cape Chardonnay Wine

Just to let you know I am sat drinking a delightful wine and wanted to recommend it to you. A crisp and gentle white wine – Cape Chardonnay (South African). Now, I usually would chose a French or Italian but I felt like a change. I have been buying more wine from the Co-Op as their wines have a list of ingredients (very few follow suit as there is all sorts of hidden ingredients in a lot of wines). Look...

What’s wrong with buying Ribena?

It’s a good question. Well, Ribena belongs to Glaxo Smith Kline, who still test on animals. Hm, surely it’s only the pharmaceutical’s that still test on animals isn’t it. Hmm. No. I am the first to admit being naive. I was prompted this weekend to know more about the companies to avoid. Now, I do actually get a bit annoyed when people challenge me about this. I am a vegan. I don’t...
